Do you think this book is a realistic account of the historical time period? Why or why not? Provide evidence to support you thinking.
I think that this book is a realistic account of the historical time period. The book describes how the revolutionary war took place when slaves were around. Which in real life is true. The book also hints that it took place on a time were African Americans where not treated the same as English or Wight people. That also was something that happend in real life.
I think that the thing that happen in the book make the reader start to know were most of the book takes place. I also think that some of things that the master does to the main character hint that it takes place a long time ago. In conclusion, this book is a realistic account of the historical time period. My ideas prove that. Plus, the book has great detail and I can't wait to read more.

Band Concert.
Today is the band concert at school. I am really exited for it! I have 2 solos and afterwards I am going to get a book from our school book fair. I don't know which one I will get yet but I hope it is a good one. I looked in the fair before and I saw a lot of pretty good books. I will keep you guys posted!

Book Club Journal Entrie # 1
Describe the historical time period, according to the chapter. What clues from the chapter support this time period? How do the characters talk, dress, act, and/or think? How does the setting of the novel lend to your understanding of this time period?
The Historical time period according to the chapter is at the begging of the revolutionary war. It starts when the British defeat to patriots at the fight of fort Washington.The chapter also describes that there was a fight when the main character starts talking to another slave and the other slave describes how "blood was running like water. Blew arms and legs everywhere." The chapter also states that the main character/ Isabell was getting the house ready for a party her master was going to have in honor of the patriots defeat at Fort Washington.
Madam/ the master is getting all dressed up for the big party that that are going to have. The book even says that she glues mouse fur to her eyebrows to make them more bushy! She is acting very proper and talking like she is the most fancy person in the world. The setting of the book lends me to understand the time period because it describes that is takes place around Fort Washington. It also says that it takes place in New York.
In conclusion, the place were Isabell lives is alive with activity and I am sure there is much more big wars, party's, down sides and up sides to come.

Divergent: Tris
If you had to leave your house friends and family, what would you do? Would you stay with your family or go to the distance and find a new family with people you don't even know? In Divergent by Vironica Roth Tris realizes not everyone is trustworthy.
Tris chooses differently. She chooses to go the distance and go to a new faction (group of people.) When she arrives at her brand new faction she meets brand new friends along with it. Including Christina, Will, Albert and Four who is one of the dauntless faction trainers. Throughout her training Tris becomes close to Four. One day Albert proves himself to be a coward and is forced to stand in front of a target well knifes are hurled at him by Four. Tris feel badly for him so she volunteers to take his place. Of course after a few throws Four throws a knife to close and it hits her ear. She says “Thank you? You almost stabbed my ear, and you spent the entire time taunting me. Why should I thank you?” Four felt bad for Tris but dauntless is the bravery faction and does not feel bad enough to care.
Towards the end of the Dauntless training Tris is ranked first in her class. Of course there is always someone who is a little jealous. In this book the is Peter. He and a few other boys including her so called friend Albert team up and kidnap her. They take her to the deepest pit in the entire faction and are prepared to push her to her death when Four comes to her rescue. Tris of course is stunned by what Albert tried to do to her. When he comes to try to apologize she declines it. Albert is filled with guilt that is shown by his actions. He is so filled that he jumps into the pit were he was going to push Tris and falls to his death. Tris of course is know the own feeling guilty and could never forgive herself.
Towards the very end of the book Erudite (faction) starts a sneak attack war on Tris's old faction. Eric one of the dauntless leaders joins the Erudite and betrays the Dauntless. She realizes he is a tyrant when he says "“Think anyone would notice if he accidentally got shot?” he says this to a lady who also betrayed Dauntless. Tris of course is very under estimated and shoots Eric in the leg.
In conclusion, Tris realizes that not everyone is trust worthy. She finds out that being Divergent is a power and a weakness. It can be controlled but also can't. And that she can never be replaced.

So, tommorow is Memorial Day. I don't have school tommorow because of the holiday. I am guessing that most people don't have school/ work tommorow. If they did that would be really sad. The Water Slide
"Remember the plan!" My friend Maya said. It was our final field trip for the junior Girl Scouts at Harlen, and as a celebration our troop took a trip to the water park in Frankin Muth and my friend Maya and I were about to go on the water slide. As we slowly lowered our 2 person raft into the water I could the grin on Maya's face growing wider and wider.
"Go Ahead" the life guard shouted. I lowered my self into the raft and pushed off with my feet. As our raft went spinning into darkness I waited for Maya to give the signal. "Go!" She screamed. I felt her hand grab onto the handle on my side of the tube. I grasped it and just as I was about to pull her into my seat her arms gave way and she slipped out of my grasp.
" OMG!" She shouted.
"Maya, grab my hand!" I leaned forward and tried to reach out so she could grab my hand, but instead I fell off the tube. With one hand on it and one hand off I tried pull myself back up into my seat but it was no use. Maya and I were still zooming down the water slide when light came into view. As our tube floated out of the slide I saw a life guard making his way towards us.
"We are busted" I whispered to Maya as she nodded her head in response.
" Sorry." I said the the life guard. After all we were only trying to switch seats well floating down a 60mph water slide in pitch blackness!

AHW 5/21/14
Swim Practice
I slowley slipped my cape over my head, as my coach shouted "600" as he does at the beginning on every practice. I knew that for the next 10 minutes or so, I would be in the water swimming 24 laps for warmup, at the cranbrook pool. I inched closer to the water a dipped a shaking toe in the the shimmering waves. I jumped back in surprise as the coldness rushed up my spin and caused me to lightly shiver. I looked at the clock as I nervously tightened the googles on the back on my head. 5 seconds. 3. 1. The boy that was first in my lane launched himself off the deck and into the pool. It was my turn. I let my feet, that were tightly griped on the deck loose, and jumped into the water after him. As the water encased me like a cocon I felt so cold that it made me wonder if this 2 hour swim practice, in a pool that is usually much warmer. Was, actully the sight they use for the Polar Bear Plunge.

AHW 5/19/14
Girls on the Run ( GOTR)
On Sunday I ran a 5k or 3 mile run. I did it for this program called girls on the run ( GOTR) which is bassically a running group were girls learn how to make new friends and learn to be self confident. I did it last year but because of swim team I was not able to do it this year. Although I still ran in the race. It was a lot of fun! On race day most of the girls participating got tattoos and got there hair dyed different colors on be half of the race. I got about 5th place over about 1,000-2,000 people! My time was about a 21:52. It was soooooooooooooo much fun, and I can't wait to do it again next year!

AHW 5/12/14
Die or Prevail. Mostly Die.
Sometimes people may die. Sometimes they may prevail. But I died. I did not prevail, but died.
It was 1:30 on April 26, 2014. I was laying in my bed, half asleep when I heard the knock. The knock that led to my death. I grabbed a pair of jeans off the floor and a spare t shirt that was hanging out of my dresser drawer. I jumped out the window and ran 1 block up the street to wear my friends were waiting.
"Hey guys!" I shouted over the rumbling sound of the trucks that drove on the main road near my house.
" Liv, what took you so long?" My friend Sarah shouted. " We've been waiting for like ever!"
" Sorry, Meg only knocked like 5 seconds ago." I said glaring at my friend named Meg that just shook her head and laughed under her breath. I reached into my pocket and pulled out 2 things. A left over piece of gum from the day before which I shoved carelessly into my mouth and a scrap of paper. On the paper was a adress and a phone number. Both of which belonged to Mr. Thomd who lived about 4 blockes away. My friends and I hated him. He was constantly calling us names and threatening to call the cops if we didn't ' Be quiet'. So tonight we were going to teach him a lesson.

But it was at that point when we were speeding down the road at above average speed that the thought came to my mind that what we were about to attempt might might not be as good of a thought as before.

Forensics Showcase
Today is the Forensics Showcase at my school. A Forensics Showcase is basically when all of the kids on the Forensics team perform there pieces for there family and friends. I am really nervous. Cinco de Mayo!
Happy Cinco do Mayo everyone! I did not do much to celebrate this holiday, but, I did have tacos for dinner! Does that count? Anyway, today my class had a substitute teacher, she said it is not only Cinco de Mayo, but it is also Revenge of the 5th! I guess it is kind of a Star Wars Mexican day!
Happy Cinco do Mayo everyone! I did not do much to celebrate this holiday, but, I did have tacos for dinner! Does that count? Anyway, today my class had a substitute teacher, she said it is not only Cinco de Mayo, but it is also Revenge of the 5th! I guess it is kind of a Star Wars Mexican day!

Star Wars Day
Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you! Today is Star Wars day, and I am having lots of fun so far. I think I might watch Return of the Jedi later. Plus, tonight we are having a Star Wars themed dinner. I think it migh include Vater Tots! :-)

Spelling City
Right now I am in grammar and spelling class. I just finished my spelling test on a website called spelling city. I got 100%!! My strategy to always get 100% is to take the Practice spelling test before you take the regular I. And I will tell you, it really works!

Happy B-day Dad!
I just want to wish a very happy birthday to my dad. He is turning 42 years old today! I hope he had a good day and that this was one of his best birthdays ever! I hope that he really likes all the presents that Me, my Mom, and my 2 little sisters got him!
