The Bus
Today at school the 5/6 had there end of the year party. We went to the bowling alley and the roller rink. On the way from the roller rink to the bowling alley my friends and I were all sitting in a seat together on the bus. I started telling a story to pass the time when I was suddenly pinned against the window by a backpack and camera bag. Feeling slightly squished I watched as my teacher mr. Joseph stood up quickly. He accidentally sat down on top of my friends and I. He apologized 2/3 times as my other teacher said " He has been waiting to do that forever, sit on kids!" We knew that she was being sarcastic so we started laughing. It was pretty crazy!

Swim Practice
Today I went to a 6:00-7:30am practice. I was tired all day after. I hate morning practices especially since I also went to a swim practice after school from 5:30-6:30. It was for a different team. I must admit  the first practice  was much harder then the second one. Not that I am not ok with that!

Kentucky Derby
So the final race of the triple crown was on Saturday. Most people were routing for California Chrome who won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. If he won the Belmont Stakes he would have won the triple crown! The race was pretty good. And before hand all the other jockeys were getting interviewed about is they thought there horse would beat California Chrome. Of course, the all said there horses would. In the end California Chrome had a pretty bad race and got 4th. It was a pretty bad race for him and his jokey and owner. They all seamed pretty sad in the end. But the record of Secretariat still stands. Secretariat and Man 'O' War are both considered the greatest race horses of all time. It would be pretty cool to see them race against each other. Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes  31 lengths ahead of the nearest horse and got the world record for 1 1/2 miles of horse running ( 2 minutes 24 seconds) In fact his owner actually came to the most recent Belmont Stakes. Boy, I would give ANYTHING to meet her and Secretariat. If I did that would be awesome!

Literary Essay
Divergent: Tris

If you had to leave your house, friends, and family, what would you do? In Divergent by Veronica Roth, Tris realizes not everyone is trustworthy.

Sometimes people that you think are the most trustworthy people ever, do things that you would never ever expect. When she arrives at her brand new faction (group of people) she meets brand new friends along with it including Christina, Will, Albert and Four who is one of the dauntless faction trainers. Throughout her training, Tris becomes close to Four. One day Albert proves himself to be a coward and is forced to stand in front of a target while knives are hurled at him by Four. Tris feels badly for him so she volunteers to take his place. Of course after a few throws Four throws a knife too close and it hits her ear.  After Four says " You should thank me for helping you" she says angrily “Thank you? You almost stabbed my ear, and you spent the entire time taunting me. Why should I thank you?” Four felt bad for Tris but Dauntless is the bravery faction and does not feel bad enough to care.

Albert, is one of Tris's best friends, but only until he does something that betrayed   Tris and showed his untrustworthiness towards his friends. Towards the end of the Dauntless training Tris is ranked first in her class. Of course there is always someone who is a little jealous. In this book that is Peter. He and a few other boys including her so called friend Albert team up and kidnap her. They take her to the deepest pit in the entire faction and are prepared to push her to her death when Four comes to her rescue. Tris of course is stunned by what Albert tried to do to her. When he comes to try to apologize, she declines it. Albert is filled with guilt that is shown by his actions. He feels so guilty that he jumps into the pit where he was going to push Tris and falls to his death. Tris of course is now feeling guilty for not forgiving him and causing his death. She feels like she could never forgive herself.

Even people that are supposed to be the most trusted in the entire faction can show there untrusting self. Eric proves this. Towards the very end of the book the Erudite Faction starts a sneak attack war on Tris's old faction. Eric, one of the dauntless leaders joins the Erudite and betrays the Dauntless. She realizes what a tyrant he is when he says “Think anyone would notice if he accidentally got shot?” he says this to a lady who also betrayed Dauntless when he is about to kill Four. Tris of course is very under estimated and shoots Eric in the leg, saving them both.

Tris realizes that not everyone is trustworthy. She finds out that finding the right people to trust may be much harder then she thought. And that even people she thought were trustful were not.

Divergent: Tris

If you had to leave your house, friends, and family, what would you do? Would you stay with your family or go to the distance and find a new family with people you don't even know? In Divergent by Veronica Roth, Tris realizes not everyone is trustworthy.

Tris is Divergent, which means that she can not be split into a faction and that multiple factions are right for her, she has to hide and make sure no one knows her powers. She chooses to go the distance and go to a new faction (group of people.) When she arrives at her brand new faction she meets brand new friends along with it including Christina, Will, Albert and Four who is one of the dauntless faction trainers.

Tris of course is very under estimated and shoots Eric in the leg, saving them both.

In conclusion, Tris realizes that not everyone is trustworthy. She finds out that being Divergent is a power and a weakness. It can be controlled but also can't. And that she can never be replaced.

How to Fly
Hi, my name is Claire Anne Wert. I live in Birmingham Michigan and my favorite color is pink like most girls my age. I attend Eastover Hills Middle School and Like my best friend Magee I am in every single advanced class there. But, unlike her, I don't play sports and I hate everything to do with height. Because unlike her I am the shortest kid in the eighth grade. By 4 feet.

Usally, I live a pretty normal life. I eat, sleep, and breath the same way most kids do. I love acting and gardening. Most of my life is normal. Exept, I am sure that most kids my age don't get stared at were ever they go. I am sure most kids don't get bullied, teased, pointed at, and laughed at just because of on small flaw in there perfect life. Of course, being the age I am I have gotten used to it. But, even when a person try's to sneak a peak at me when they think I am not looking, I still know they are. "Having eyes in the back of my head"  as my Mom says, is one of my very few talents.

Chains, what a book!

How is the particular time period a struggle for humanity? Predict the events and how the character will act. What sorts of life lesson do you think this book will teach? Can you find any evidence that supports the idea about the life lessons?

This time period is a struggle for humanity because the slaves are not being treated fairly. The slaves are being treated like they are worth nothing.  They are struggling to be heard and to be treated normally. I think the main character will act against all of these rules that are not fair against slaves.
She might rebel against her master.

This book teaches me to stand up for what I believe in. To never let people tell me what to do, and to always believe in myself. When Ruth gets sold to another slave owner Isabelle stands up for her sister against the master. She proves herself as a brave independent girl. In conclusion, this book has many life lesson. It teaches us to never run away from what we believe in.
