Two Days!!!

We have two days until it is time for spring break to start! I am super excited because I am going on a cruise with my moms best friend family. They are super nice and I can't wait to see them. The only bad thing is that Friday morning we are leaving a 7:00 in the morning to drive 17 hours to Birmingham, Alabama. Which is good and bad at the same time.

So, today my bus got into a car accident. It was super scary, but luckily no one got hurt. Well, that is not entirely true, the lady that hit our bus got a broken wrist, but other then that everything was okay, I swear I think my life flashed before my eyes. I finally know the true meaning of YOLO.

I can't believe MSU is going to the final 4!!! This is crazy, I mean no one even thought that they would make past the top 36, but final 4?!?! This is crazy!! Anyway, Watch out Duke because MSU is going to bring you down town!!!!

Last Day
Today is the very last day of Swimming this year on BBD. We have our final meet today and for everyone other then the the people going to the National Meet, it is the final day today. I am swimming 4 events, a relay, 200 IM, 100 Freestyle, and the 50 Fly. It is alos our last chance to beet the Rapid Area YMCA and get first place. We are winning right now, but the meet is far from over. Well, wish me luck tonight!!

Tomorrow is the start of the Zone Meet for swimming. It is the biggest meet of the year so far and the hardest to make. But, me and a lot of my friends made it to this meet. I am really excited! Tomorrow I am swimming to 500 free after school. Good luck to everyone that is going!

Wow! The temperature is really rising!! I am sooooo happy. Especially since it has been really cold lately. But, the bad things  is that I have a big swim meet coming up so I can't do anything outside. Which, is kind of a bummer. But other then that, I am happy.

Well, that puts a end to a weekend full of swimming. I swam at the USS State Meet and I did ok. I dropped time in almost all of my events, and all my friends did really good too. I did the best in my 200 fly. I made it back to the evening session in that, and got 10th. My final time was a 2:25. Good job to everyone that swan this weekend!

Q: Explain what impressed you most about the speech and why.

A: What impressed me most about the speech is how President Obama was not afraid to share the truth that everyone else was to scared to admit to. People have known in there minds that America needs to "Shake up the status quote" but no one was brave enough to say it out loud but him. Therefore "shaking up the status quote."

Touch the Wall

Today after swim practice my swim team is watching a movie called "Touch the Wall" I am sooooo exited! It is a documentary about Missy Franklin and her best friend Kara Lynn Joyce. And, guess what! I met Kara Lynn Joice! I fact I even got her autograph! It is so cool to be able to say that. I will tell you guys all about the movie in my next post.

The Scorch Trails: book review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is ok, but compared to the other maze runner adventures it does not contain that much action. But, other then that, it has a good ending and a even better beginning. So yes, I would recommend this book but to whoever is going to read it , to understand you should read the first book in the series first.

The final swim

"I scared" I muttered under my breath the water was glistening all around me as I slipped into the Birmingham YMCA pool. I was about to swim a 150 freestyle for time. And the worst part was I was racing against one of my best friends. 

"All right girls, take your marks, GO!!"

I pushed off the wall. The water was rushing past me. Flowing fast past my ears so I almost felt def. I looked to my side to see my competeter rushing along side me, we were neck in neck. I pushed of the wall for the first flip turn and sprinted my 2nd length. By the last 50 I could tell I was falling behind

Writing Unit 2

“There’s a lot of unnecessary meanness that happens while you’re trying to sort out who you want to be,” Is a quote from RJ Palacio. This quote reflects a book she has written called Wonder, (Pic of the cover of Wonder) a novel written by RJ Palacio. (Pic of the author) It is a story of a 5th grade boy just like any other boy,( # 5) but there is one thing about this boy that is different. Auggie has a facial difference, ( pic of eye) which makes him a lot different from the other kids in the school. ( Laughing kids) In Wonder Auggie must learn how he can change. He must discover his true passion, and find true friends. In order to get through 5th grade he must find himself, and discover who he really is. (6) (Hearts)

Throughout the story Auggie ( Pic of eye) starts to learn more about himself and what he is about. He learns different things about himself that he never knew. For example at the end of the book when Auggie is talking to the Middle School Director Mr.Tushman he notices a picture he drew of himself at the beginning of the year. It was his self portrait as a duck. ( Duck) The author writes "Is it safe to assume that is was because of the...um, the duckling that turns into a swan?"(swan)  Auggie responds to Mr. Tushman’s comment with "No, I just think I look like a duck." (Duck) He realizes that maybe Mr. Tushman is right. Maybe when he grows he will be the swan, he will be normal. (8) ( thumbs up)

Also, in the story Auggie and his friends go on a trip to 5th grade camp. ( cabin)  At camp, one of the nights he spends there is movie night. ( fIlm projecter) Towards the end of the night Auggie and his friend Jack Will go into the woods to go to the bathroom (toilet) when they run into some 7th graders. The 7th graders start making fun of Auggie when suddenly Henry, Miles, and Amos all show up out of nowhere. These boys start to defend Auggie.(Fist)  They start a fight and then in a panic the boys run away with Auggie at their side. The author then writes "Amos looked at me and nodded "It was cool how you stood your ground, little dude" he said high-fiving me." ( High Five) This shows how like Auggie did at the end of the book the boys change. They are nicer to Auggie, and they feel more comfortable around him. (8) ( check mark) 

By the end of the story there is a example of changes in Auggie’s dad, and family. ( family picture)  When Auggie and his dad are sitting in the car waiting for Auggie's graduation ( graduation hat) ceremony to start, Auggie's dad becomes more open and expressive towards Auggie. Auggie and his dad talk about how his dad does not want Auggie to cover up his face and how he (person with head down) loves seeing it. Auggie sees a change in his dad and it makes him change even more. At this part in the book the author writes ""Auggie, I couldn't stand seeing you wear that thing cover your face anymore," he said ( dad talking to kid) clumsy....." Auggie realizes that even though he does not like his face, other people do. And there is no point in hiding from the world if the world does not hide from you back. (7) ( person hiding)

In conclusion, Wonder by R.J Palacio is a book the represents finding yourself and discovering who you really are. ( light bulb) We see this through his friends, (friends)family, (family) and teachers. (Teachers) When I first started school I had no idea what reading even was! ( book) But, when I learned how to read I got really good at it and used that to read Wonder. ( book cover)  (Which, I might say was one of the best decisions I have ever made.)But, through reading Wonder I learned that always staying the same, and never trying something new is like being locked in a box for your entire life. ( box) It is like hiding yourself in a lifelong game of hide and seek.(people playing hide and seek)  It is impossible. Auggie, discovers what he is really about, so why can’t we? “Rise above the storm ( storm)and you will find the sunshine( sunshine) ” is a quote from Mario Fernandez. It shows how you should not as Fernandez says stay under the storm or stay the same. You should change, try new things and “find the sunshine.”

I am about  to read to my little sister. I hope this goes well and we don't have to read very many books. But, you know having a little quality time with your family is always a good thing.
