Social Studies 6/2/14

Chains, what a book!

How is the particular time period a struggle for humanity? Predict the events and how the character will act. What sorts of life lesson do you think this book will teach? Can you find any evidence that supports the idea about the life lessons?

This time period is a struggle for humanity because the slaves are not being treated fairly. The slaves are being treated like they are worth nothing.  They are struggling to be heard and to be treated normally. I think the main character will act against all of these rules that are not fair against slaves.
She might rebel against her master.

This book teaches me to stand up for what I believe in. To never let people tell me what to do, and to always believe in myself. When Ruth gets sold to another slave owner Isabelle stands up for her sister against the master. She proves herself as a brave independent girl. In conclusion, this book has many life lesson. It teaches us to never run away from what we believe in.
